The Complete Self Protection Program is a comprehensive and in-depth training program that will transform your body, mind, and spirit…totally. It is training unlike any other.

You’ll learn everything you need to defend yourself in the street : how to think, how to identify threats, how to prevent & avoid violence, how to de-escalate conflict, and how to physically defend yourself with a fighting system. You’ll also learn how to strengthen your body, how to improve your conditioning, how to use tools & weapons, and how to shoot a pistol.

This course of study is the culmination of nearly two decades of research and development in civilian self-protection. Using modern training methods, including the latest from the emerging field of tactical excercise science, CSP is truly an integrated approach to personal safety. Unlike self-defense classes in traditional martial arts that might focus on only one or two technical aspects of defense (ie. ground-fighting or striking), CSP takes a wider perspective.

CSP starts with the scenario (violence) in mind, and works backwards to ensure that the curriculum properly addresses the issue, instead of starting from tradition or habit and then adapting training scenarios to fit the curriculum. For that simple reason, CSP includes topics not always discussed in self-defense settings:

  • physical fitness (strength, coordination, stamina)

  • situational awareness training

  • legal issues surrounding self protection

  • mental toughness

  • speed, agility, and reaction time

  • improvised weapons

  • use of defensive firearms (CCW)

  • hand-to-hand combatives

  • biomechanical motion principles

Structured in a logical progression that takes the beginner from foundational concepts to advanced theories in manageable steps, CSP uses a familiar white-to-black belt ranking system.

The first year of training is focused on the basics, including core lessons about self-defense and physical fitness that set the stage for intermediate learning; eventually progressing more advanced applications. Black belt proficiency can be reached in around 4 years, but functional self-defense learning starts on day one.

Rank earned in the Complete Self Protection Program is Internationally Certified by the World Combat Association. The CSP Syllabus has been approved by Iain Abernethy and the WCA. This rigorous peer-review certification process is one that ensures that the highest standards of practical combat martial arts instruction are met across a range of functional criteria.

The syllabus is superb! I really enjoyed reading through it and I have to congratulate you on one of the most through and holistic I have seen. It’s a great blending of the traditional and modern. I particularly like the way it all hangs together as a holistic whole. Sometimes we see people who have a lot of content, but no underlying functional structure or teaching protocols holding it all together. Not so with yours! Excellent stuff!
